Chalakkunnu Sree Muthappan temple is located at Chalakkunnu in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Muthappan. The annual theyyam kaliyattam thira festival in the temple is held for four days in Malayalam Meena Masam – Meenam 17 to Meenam 20 (March 31 to April 3).

Sree Muthappan temple are Manathana Pothi theyyam, Muthappan theyyam, Gulikan
theyyam and Thiruvappana.
This is a small traditional temple with a chathura sreekovil. There are no major structures. Other deities popularly worshipped in Kavu and temples in Kannur region are also worshipped in the temple in small sreekovils, under trees and atop raised square platforms, which are exposed to the elements.
The annual festival days are noted various unique pujas and
rituals, melam, decoration, fireworks and traditional temple performing art
forms.
Sankranti in every Malayalamasam and Vishu are important
days in the temple.
