Vellikoth Puravankara Tharavadu Devasthanam temple is located at Bellikoth in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy, Chamundi, Vishnumoorthi and other deities commonly worshipped in kavu, sacred places and tharavadu in the region. The theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held annually for two days in Malayalam Vrischika Masam – Vrischikam 7 to Vrischikam 8 (November 22 to November 23).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Vellikoth Puravankara Tharavadu Devasthanam temple are Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Padaveeran theyyam, Pottan theyyam, Chooliyar Bhagavathi theyyam, Achanangum Bhootham theyyam, Aryakkara Bhagavathi theyyam, Gulikan theyyam and Moovalamkuzhi Chamundi theyyam.
This is a private temple maintained by an old Tharavadu. The
shrine is open only for few days in a year to public especially during theyyam
period.
