Kovvappuram Muthachi Valappil Vayanattu Kulavan Devasthanam Temple – Kaliyattam Theyyam Thira Festival

Kovvappuram Muthachi Valappil Vayanattu Kulavan Devasthanam temple is located at Kovvappuram in Cherukunnu in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vayanattu Kulavan and other associated deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Thula Masam – Thulam 11 to Thulam 12 (October 27 to October 28).

This is a small shrine attached to a house. Deities are worshipped in smaller chathura sreekovil. Some deities are worshiped atop raised square platforms. Certain deities are worshiped under trees. Sankranti in every Malayalam month is of significance here.
