Kottumpuram Vairajathan temple is located at Kottumpuram in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vairajathan. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Meda Masam – Medam 29 to Medam 31 (May 12 to May 15). Vairajathan theyyam is performed only once in three years.

Vairajathan temple are Oorpazhassi theyyam, Vettakkorumakan theyyam, Narambil
Bhagavathi, Udayaganathu Bhagavathi and Kotholi Bhagavathy and Vairajathan
theyyam.
This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil for the
main deity. The roof of the shrine is traditionally decorated. There are other
smaller sreekovils and raised platforms for other deities. Certain deities are
worshipped under trees. Sankranti in a Malayalam month is of great importance.

‘കൊടിയില പിടി’ നടത്തുന്നതോടെ തിറ മഹോത്സവത്തിന് തുടക്കംകുറിക്കുന്നു.

കര്‍ണ്ണമൂര്‍ത്തി കേണോത്ത് തറവാട്ടിലാണ് വ്രതമിരിക്കുന്നത്.
പേര് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ വൈരത്തില്‍ നിന്നും ജാതനായവനാണ് വൈരജാതന്‍. ചുരുക്കത്തില്‍ ഉഗ്രമൂര്‍ത്തി എന്നര്‍ത്ഥം. ദക്ഷനെ വധിക്കുവാനാണ് വൈരജാതന്‍ ജാതനായത് എന്നാണു വിശ്വാസം.
നരമ്പില്‍ ഭഗവതി, കോതോളി ഭഗവതി തുടങ്ങിയ തെയ്യക്കോലങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ കെട്ടിയാടുന്നു. നരമ്പില്‍ ഭഗവതി കേണോത്ത് വടക്കറെത്ത് തറവാട്ടുകാരുടെയും,കോതോളി ഭഗവതി തെക്കറെത്ത് തറവാട്ടുകാരുടെയും പ്രധാന ആരാധനാ മൂര്‍ത്തികളാണ്.
