Karamel Padiyilkottam Azhikkottu Gurunathan Devasthanam temple is located on Annur Road near Payyannur in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Pancha Murthi, Vishnumoorthi and other related deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Thula Masam – Thulam 9 to Thulam 10 (October 26 to October 27).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Karamel Padiyilkottam Azhikkottu Gurunathan Devasthanam temple are Gulikan theyyam, Karim Chamundi theyyam, Pancha Murthy theyyam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil – square
sanctum sanctorum. The walls and roof of the shrine are traditionally
decorated. Some deities are worshipped on square platforms and under trees.
Vishu is an important festival here. Sankranti in every month is of great
significance.
