Kadannappally Muchilottu Bhagavathi temple is located at Kadannappalli
in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Muchilottu Bhagavathy,
Chamundi and Narambil Bhagavathy. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival
is held for four days in Dhanu Masam – Dhanu 17 to Dhanu 20 (January 1 to
January 4).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Kadannappally
Muchilottu Bhagavathi temple are Muchilot Bhagavathi theyyam, Changanum
Ponganum, Narambil Bhagavathi, Kundor Chamundi, Kannangattu Bhagavathy, Puliyoor
Kannan, Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Vannan Kooth and Puliyoor Kali theyyam.
The temple has a chathura sreekovil for the main deity. There are other sreekovils in the temple compound. Walls and roof of all sreekovils are traditionally decorated with Hindu motifs. Some deities are worshipped atop square platforms and under trees.
