The temple of Sati Mata located in Italai village of Achalda block in Uttar Pradesh is a major center of devotion for devotees. For nearly 100 years, this temple has been fulfilling the wishes of the people.
Italai Sati Mata Temple Navratri festival 2026 date is from
October 11 to October 20. Chaitra Navratri festival 2026 date is March 19 to
March 27.
It is believed that prayers made here with true devotion are
never left unanswered. During the auspicious occasion of Navratri, the temple
sees special hustle and bustle. A large number of devotees come to offer flags
and jaware (sacred barley sprouts).
The temple’s origin is linked to an interesting incident.
According to the priest of the temple, after the death of his ancestor, the
widow decided to perform sati (self-immolation). The family tried to stop her
by locking her in a room. However, the lock broke open on its own. The old woman
reached the funeral pyre and willingly offered herself to the fire. She kept
speaking until her final moments. The temple of Sati Mata was established at
that very spot.
Today, the number of devotees at the temple continues to
increase. During Navratri, a fair is also held here. People from far and wide
come to offer flags at the feet of the goddess after their wishes are
fulfilled.
