Aduthila Guliyanka Bhagavathy temple is located at Aduthila near Pazhayangadi in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi and several other deities that are worshipped in thravadu, kavu and sacred places in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Vrischika Masam – Vrischikam 20 and Vrischikam 21 (December 6 and December 7).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Aduthila
Guliyanka Bhagavathy temple are Bali theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Dhooliyanga
Bhagavathy theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Kundor Chamundi theyyam and Kurathi
theyyam.
The temple has a chathura sreekovil (square sanctum
sanctorum) for the main deity. The walls and roof of the shrine are decorated
with traditional motifs. There are other smaller sanctums for other deities.
Some deities are worshipped atop small square platforms and under trees. The
temple performs special pujas and rituals on Sankranti day.
