Paravoor Chonnamma temple is located at Paravoor near Panapuzha in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Chonnamma. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Vrischika Masam – Vrischikam 25 to Vrischikam 26 (December 10 to December 11).
The shrine has a chathura sreekovil or square sanctum
sanctorum for the main deities. Upa devatas are worshipped atop square
platforms and under trees. Sankranti is an important day in a month in the temple.
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Paravoor Chonnamma
temple are Chonnamma Bhagavathy theyyam, Karan Daivam and Kudiveeran theyyam.
