Iduvungal Sree Vishnumoorthi temple is located on the Kanhangad - Kasaragod State Highway, Izzat Nagar, Kalnad in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vishnumoorthi. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for eight days in Malayalam Vrischika and Dhanu Masam – Vrischikam 25 to Dhanu 2 (December 10 to December 17).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Iduvungal Sree Vishnumoorthi temple are Vishnumoorthi, Rakteshwari theyyam and Gulikan theyyam.
This is a typical Kerala style temple seen throughout the
Kannur region. The main deity is worshipped in a traditional chathura sreekovil
(square sanctum sanctorum). There are other smaller sreekovils for other
deities. Some deities are worshipped atop square platform and under trees.
Important pujas and rituals are performed on Sankranti day as per traditional Malayala
Masam.
