Elayavur Vattakkattil Sri Bhuvaneswari temple is located at Elayavoor in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Sri Bhuvaneswari Devi. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 9 to Makaram 11 (January 23 to Jan 25).
This is a small shrine with a square sanctum sanctorum (chathura sreekovil) for the main deities. The roof and walls are traditionally decorated. Other deities are worshipped in smaller chathura sreekovil. Some deities are worshiped atop raised square platforms. Certain deities are worshiped under trees. Sankranti in every Malayalam month is of significance here. Vishu festival is of importance here.
