Valiyannur Sree Thundikkoth Bhagavathy Kavu temple is located at Valiyannur in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Thundikkoth Bhagavathy. The annual kaliyattam thira theyyam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 16, Makaram 17 and Makaram 18 (January 30, Jan 31 and February 1).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Valiyannur Sree Thundikkoth Bhagavathy Kavu temple are Kudi Veeran theyyam, Karnavar theyyam, Thundikkoth Bhagavathy theyyam and Ponmakan theyyam.
This is a small shrine with a square sanctum sanctorum
(chathura sreekovil) for the main deities. Other deities are worshipped in
smaller chathura sreekovil. Some deities are worshiped atop raised square
platforms. Certain deities are worshiped under trees. Sankranti in every Malayalam
month is of significance here.
