Manikam Poyyil temple is located at Kunnuma Palam, Pandakkal in Mahe. This is typical small shrine seen in Kannur and Kasaragod regions of Kerala. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival in the temple is unique and one can witness few rare theyyam kolams here. The theyyam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 9 to Kumbham 11 – February 21 to Feb 23.
The important theyyams seen at Manikam Poyyil temple are Elladath Bhagavathi theyyam, Karnavar, Khandakarnan and Thekkan Gulikan theyyam.
This is a small shrine and the main deities are worshipped
under a huge tree. There are small sreekovil and raised platforms for
worshipping subsidiary deities. Sankranti and Vishu are the important days in the
shrine.
