Arakkal Puthiya Bhagavathi temple is located on the Naduvil-Oduvallithattu Road at Naduvil in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 13 to Kumbham 15 (February 25 to February 27).
There are nearly five small shrines in the temple compound.
All the shrines are chathura sreekovil – square sanctum sanctorum. Some deities
are worshipped on raised square platforms which are exposed to sun and rain.
Certain deities are worshipped under trees. Vishu is an important day in the temple.
Sankranti in every Malayalam month is of great importance.
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Arakkal Puthiya Bhagavathi temple are Marapuli theyyam, Pulikandan theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Puliyoor Kali theyyam, Puliyoor Kannan theyyam, Pulikandan theyyam, Pullikarinkali theyyam, Puthiya Bhagavathy theyyam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
