Veeramangalar Theyyam – Story – Information

Veeramangalar Theyyam kolam is a rare theyyam seen during the annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival in Kannur and Kasaragod regions of Kerala. As per information, this is a male theyyam. Veeramangalar theyyam story is that of the divine person granting protection to region and helping devotees. The theyyam is said to have made selfless sacrifice. A theyyam is annually performed to honor it and get the blessing of theyyam.

The theyyam is noted for its unique headgear. The theyyam holds a sword and shield suggesting its warrior quality.

Veeramangalar theyyam is annually performed at Thalasseri 6th Mile Mandamullathil Manathantavida from April 21 to April 22.
