Uchoolikadavath Bhagavathy Theyyam – Story – Information

Uchoolikadavath Bhagavathy theyyam is a powerful Mother Goddess theyyam worshipped during the annual kaliyattam, theyyam thira festival mainly in Kasaragod region of Kerala. As per information, this Goddess is believed to have arrived from Aryanadu on a boat. As per Uchoolikadavath Bhagavathy theyyam story, she travelled from Aryanadu to Malanadu on a boat. But he traditional boat met with an accident. Aayitti Bhagavavthy, who was traveling in another boat gave Uchoolikadavath Bhagavathy, a place in her boat. Both the deities reached Malanadu. Here she is believed to have found a place of worship.

The theyyam has a huge and unique thirumudi (headdress). The theyyam is kind and blesses devotees with good health, peace and prosperity.
