Chembilot Bhagavathy Theyyam, also known as Chembilot Daivam, is a rare theyyam performed during the annual Kaliyattam – theyyam thira festival in Kasaragod region of Kerala. As per information Chembilot Bhagavathy is a manifestation of Mother Goddess Shakti. The story of Chembilot Bhagavathy is that of her appearing and making her home at Chembilot. She drove away evil doers and protected the wealth, livestock and life of her devotees.
Chembilot Bhagavathy theyyam appears in a ferocious form and she holds a sword and a shield. She has an unusually huge headdress.
Chembilot Daivam theyyam is performed at the Chembilot Bhagavathy temple in Kasaragod district.
