Cheruthazham Kunnumpuram Mullikkodu Tharavadu Temple – Theyyam Festival

Cheruthazham Kunnumpuram Mullikkodu Tharavadu temple is located at Cheruthazham – Kunnumbram in Kannur district, Kerala. This is a typical Kavu type of temple seen across Kannur district. The main sreekovil is rectangle is shape and there are two main deities worshipped in it. The annual theyyam festival – Kaliyattam festival is held for two days – Malayalamasam Makaram 11 and Makaram 12 (January 25 and January 26).

The main shrine is with a small decorated sreekovil. The other deities are worshipped on square platforms and also in small sreekovils.

The main theyyams that are part of Kaliyattam festival are Vishnumurthy theyyam, Chooliyar Bhagavathy, Padaveeran Theyyam, Thai Paradevata theyyam, Kundor Chamundi theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Sreebhootham theyyam, Kurathi theyyam and Moovalamkuzhi Chamundi.

The shrine also observes Vishu, Onam and other regional rituals and festivals that are part of Malayalam calendar.
