Thalavady Ganapathy Temple

Thalavady Maha Ganapathy Temple is located at Thalavady on Vellakinar - Parathode Road in Alappuzha district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Ganapati or Ganesha. Vinayaka Chaturthi in chingamasam (August – September) is an important festival in the temple. As local history, the temple belonged to the Chembakassery kings.

This is a very small shrine with an east facing square sanctum sanctorum or sreekovil. There are shrines of upa devatas

Chaturthi in every month is an important occasion in the temple. The temple is also famous for Vahana puja ritual.

The annual festival is famous for pujas and rituals. Caparisoned elephants, melam and traditional music are part of the annual festival.
