Thambalakkad Illathappan Kavu Temple

Thambalakad Illathappan Kavu temple is located on the Kanjirappally - Elikkulam Road at Thambalakkad in Kottayam district, Kerala. The annual pratishta festival at Thampalakkad is held in Malayalam Mithuna Masam (June – July). The annual festival noted for various pujas and rituals. The shrine is dedicated to Mahadeva Shiva.

There are no major structures here. Two separate sreekovils of modern construction can be found here. There is also a big sculpture of Shiva in the temple premises. 

Shivratri is another important festival in the temple. Pradosham Vratam day and Mondays are auspicious in the shrine. 

The temple also observes various pujas and rituals during Vishu and other auspicious days.

Nava Chandika Homam in the temple is held in Malayalam Thulam masam (October - November).
