Cheriyavelinalloor Ayiravillan Temple – Festival - Ayiravalli Temple

Cheriyavelinalloor Ayiravillan temple is located at Cheriya Velinalloor on the Ayoor - Ithikkara Road in Kollam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva and Sastha or Ayyappa and is also known as Ayiravalli temple. The annual festival in the temple is held on Uthram nakshatra day in Malayalam Meda Masam (April - May).

This is a small temple with chatura sreekovil and namaskara mandapam. Apart from the main sanctums sanctorum, there are a couple of other similar sanctums with upa devata deities. All the temple structures are modern.

The annual festival in the temple is famous for ezhunnallathu, melam, caparisoned elephants and temple performing art forms including traditional music and dance. A special palanquin with an ox face effigy is used in festival rituals.

The shrine also observes Shivratri, Ramayana Masam, Navratri, Vrischika Mandala Kalam and Thrikarthika festival.
