Vaikom Pattassery Bhagavathi Temple – Festival

Vaikom Pattassery Bhagavathi temple, also known as Pattasseri Khandakarna temple, is located at Pallipurathussery on Vaikom - T.V puram road near Vaikom in Kottayam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy or Devi. Pathamudayam festival on April 23 is an important festival in the temple. Thiruvathira in Dhanu Masam is the most important annual festival.

This is a small traditional Bhagavathy temple with a west facing chathura sreekovil, namaskara mandapam and shrines of upa devatas. The upa devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Arukola, Valiyachan, and Nagas,

Caparisoned elephants, melam, traditional performing art forms of Kerala and Tantric pujas and rituals are part of the annual festival.

The temple is famous for the Gandharvan Kalam. Theeyattu and Amma Devi kolam are part of the festival and rituals.

The temple also observes Navratri and Thrikarthika festivals.
