Kadakkara Dharmasastha temple is located at Peringalayi – Chelora in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Ayyappa or Dharmasastha. The annual festival in the temple coincides with Vishu festival and is held for five days.
This is a beautiful Kerala style temple and is located atop a small hill and is surrounded by greenery. The temple has a chathura sreekovil with a sitting murti of Ayyappa. There are shrines of upa devatas here.
The annual festival is famous for Ghoshayathra, melam, traditional performing art forms of temples, various Ayyappa temple pujas and rituals.
The shrine observes various pujas and rituals and Ayyappa Vilakku during the annual Mandala Makaravilakku pooja.
