Thiruvanchoor Narimattom Devi Temple – Festival

Thiruvanchoor Narimattom Devi temple, also known as Narimattom Bhagavathy temple, is located at Narimattom in Thiruvanchoor, Kottayam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy or Devi. The 8-day annual festival in the temple is held in Meena Masam (March - April).

The bimbham of Bhagavathy is worshipped in a chathura sreekovil. The temple has a kodimaram (flag pole), chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam and shrines of upa devatas.

The annual festival is performed as per tantric rituals. There are special homams, pujas and abhishekam during the period. The festival is also famous for caparisoned elephant, procession, and traditional performing temple arts of Kerala.

The festival culminates with arattu on Uthram nakshatra day.

Navratri and Thrikarthika are the other two important occasions in the shrine.

The annual Pongala festival is observed on Pooram nakshatra day in Meenam month.
