Mankara Mundakavu temple is located at Mankara in Palakkad district, Kerala. The annual Kumbha Bharani festival (February or March) in Malayalam Kumbha masam is the most important utsavam in the temple and is known as Bharani Vela. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy.
This is a small typical Kerala style temple with a chathura sreekovil. There are shrines of upa devatas in the temple. The shrine has a namaskara mandapam and nalambalam.
The annual Kumbha Bharani ritual is famous for various pujas and rituals as per Tantric scriptures. Procession, ezhunellippu, Kerala temple art forms and melam are part of the annual festival.
The shrine observes Navratri, Mandalakalam and Thrikarthika.
