Mankara Kannambariyaram Njarakkottukavu – Vela Festival

Mankara Kannambariyaram Njarakkottukavu is located at Mankara Kannambariyaram near Pathiripala in Palakkad district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual Vela festival in the temple is held in Kumbha Masam.

This is small Bhagavathi temple with a Chathura sreekovil. The temple has shrines of upa devatas.

The annual Vela festival is noted for parayeduppu, shuddhi kalasam, chandan charthal, porottukali, poothan thira, kalarikkal kuthira, panchavadyam, thayambaka, ezhunellippu and traditional performing art forms. A total of one big Vela and 7 Cheru velas participate in the annual festival.

The temple also observes Prathishta dinam, Navratri and Thrikarthika festival.
