Kongad Thirumandhamkunnu Temple – Festival

Kongad Thirumandhamkunnu temple is located at Kongad in Palakkad district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual temple festival is held in Malayalam Meena Masam (March – April).

The Sankalpam of Bhagavathy in the temple is that of Goddess Bhadrakali. Located atop a small hill, this is a beautiful Kerala style temple with a kodimaram (flag pole), chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam and shrines of upa devatas. The temple has a chathura sreekovil.

The annual festival is famous for a colorful procession with melam, ezhunnallathu, caparisoned elephants, melam, traditional performing art forms of Kerala, pujas and rituals as per Shakteya sampradaya.

The temple is famous for various other festivities including Navratri and Thrikarthika.
