Thalayi Balagopala Krishna Temple - Festival

Thalayi Balagopala Krishna temple, also known as Balagoplan Kovil, is located at Thalai near Thalassery in Kannur district, Kerala. The annual pratishta dinam in the temple is held in Makaram month. The shrine is dedicated to child form of Bhagavan Sri Krishna.

This is a very small temple with only a sreekovil dedicated to the deity. There are no major temple structures apart from the chatura sreekovil. The shrine is close to the Arabian Sea and on the Highway.

The annual festival in the temple is held in March and is famous for Melam. The utsava murti of Bhagavan is taken atop a caparisoned elephant.
