Ramamangalam Appattu Shiva – Vishnu Temple

Ramamangalam Appattu Shiva – Vishnu temple is located at Ramamangalam in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The shrine is located on the banks of Muvattupuzha River. The Shiva temple faces east and is located on the south side. The Shivling worshipped in the chathura sreekovil or square sanctum sanctorum is 2 feet high. The Vishnu temple faces west and is located on the north side. The murti of Bhagavan Vishnu worshipped in the vatta sreekovil or circular sanctum sanctorum is 6 feet high with four hands – chatur bahu.

Pujas are performed two times in a day. The main festival in the temple is the Mahashivratri in Kumbha Masam.

The shrine is famous for pitru tarpanam especially on Mahashivratri and Karkidaka Vavu Bali day.

The Vishu day in Medam month is the most important festival dedicated to Bhagwan Vishnu.
