Purakkattiri Thazhathayil Bhagavathi temple is located at Purakkattiri in Kozhikode district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual thira festival known as Thira Mahotsavam is held in Kumbha Masam.
In Thirayattam ritual, chosen persons adorn the role of Bhagavathy and enact various scenes from the stories of Bhagavathy. They hold a long sickle and wear red color dress and dance to the accompaniment of melam (temple music).
This annual festival attracts hundreds of devotees to the temple.
The temple holds all pujas and rituals associated with Kali temples in North Kerala.
