Pampady Cheruvallikavu Devi Temple – Pooram Festival

Pampady Cheruvallikavu Devi temple is located at South Pampady in Kottayam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual festival in the temple begins on Thiruvathira nakshatra. The festival is also known as Pampady Cheruvallikavu Pooram. The pooram festival is held on the Pooram nakshatra day in Kumbham month

The festival is famous for various Kerala temple art forms, procession, traditional dance, melam, kettukazhcha or floats and caparisoned elephants. Utsava bali, annadanam, ootu etc are part of the festival. The festival ends with Arattu.

This is a typical Kerala shrine with a square sanctum sanctorum and kodimaram (flag post). The temple has upa devata shrines.

The shrine observes Navratri and Thrikarthika festival.
