Nandipulam Payurkkavu Bhagavathi Temple – Festival

Nandipulam Payurkkavu Bhagavathi temple is located at Nandipulam near Varandarappilly in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual pooram festival in the temple is held on Pooram nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam (February – March).

During the annual festival the thidambu of Bhagavathi is carried atop a caparisoned elephant to the accompaniment of melam. The temple is decorated on the occasion with colorful lights.

In the evening, more than half dozen caparisoned elephants line up to the accompaniment of Panchavadyam.

The shrine has a chathura sreekovil and a chuttambalam.

The shrine also observes Navratri – Vidyarambham and Thrikarthika festival.
