Karnoor Shiva temple is located on the Mekkappala – Vettampara road in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva. Thiruvathira in Dhanu Masam (December – January) and Maha Shivaratri (February – March) are the two most important festivals here.
This is ancient temple with a Shivling in a chathura sreekovil. The structures covering the murtis in the temple are modern structures. Upa Devatas worshipped here include Ganapati and Goddess Bhagavathy.
The annual Shivratri festival is noted for various pujas and rituals.
The Thiruvathira in Dhanu Masam is held with various cultural and religious programs including Kerala temple folk arts and Thiruvathira by women.
