Hariharapuram Anchumoorthy Temple – Atham Festival

Hariharapuram Anchumoorthy temple is located at Hariharapuram near Paravur in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The temple is also known as Anchumoorthi Kavu. The annual festival in the temple is observed on the Atham nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam (February – March).

The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavathy, Shiva, Vishnu, Ganapathy and Nagam.

Some of the important rituals and festivities in the shrine include Ashta Dravya Ganapathy homam, Bhagavatha Parayanam, Pongala, Pongala puja, Parayideel, Annadanam, chamayavilakku, mrityunjaya homam, nagaru pooja, urul ghoshayathra, and arattu.

Kuthiryeduppu is on the main events during the annual festival. Caparisoned elephants and melam are part of the annual festival.

The temple also observes Mahashivratri, Ramayana Masam, Navratri and Thrikarthika.
