Chorottur Sri Kurumba Bhagavathi Temple – Festival Chorottur Kavu

Chorottur Sri Kurumba Bhagavathi temple, also known as Chorottur Kavu or Adimai Kavu, is located at Chorottur in Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual festival in the temple begins on Uthram nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam and is known as Thalappoli Mahotsavam.

The five-day festival concludes on the fifth day after Uthram nakshatra with Thalappoli, ezhunellippua, vela, temple art forms, caparisoned elephants and melam. Parayeduppu is an important event during the annual festival.

The temple has a sreekovil with the murti facing east. The temple has a chuttambalam and a flag post or kodimaram.

The annual prathishta dinam is held in Meena Masam. Ramayana Masam is held with the reading of Ramayana and Chuttuvilakku. Niraputhari Mahotsavam is held in Karkidaka Masam. Navratri and Vidyarambham are observed in the temple. The shrine observes Mandala Kalam.

An important offering in the temple is Kalamezhuthu Pattu.

The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meena Masam (March - April).
