Adinadu Khandakarnnankavu Temple – Festival

Adinadu Khandakarnnankavu temple is located at Adinadu near Puthiyakavu – Karunagappally in Kollam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva. The annual festival in the temple is observed on the Mahashivratri day in Kumbha Masam.

The Shivratri day in Kandakarnan Kavu temple is famous for kalakettu – effigies of ox pulled to the temple. The shrine is decorated with thousands of lamps on the day. Melam, temple folk arts and pujas and rituals are part of the annual festival.



The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple include Ganapathy, Muruga and Goddess Bhadrakali.

The shrine observes Pongala ritual, Vinayaka Chaturthi in Chingamasam and festivals and rituals associated with Muruga.

The temple has a kodimaram, chathura sreekovil, chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam and shrines of upa devatas.
