Nayarambalam Sree Subramanya Temple – Kochambalam

Nayarambalam Sree Subramanya Temple, also known as Kochambalam, is located at Nayarambalam, Kochi in Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Subrahmanya or Muruga. The annual Thaipooyam festival is an important festival in the temple.

The temple founded by Brahma Shri Yogananda Paramahamsar who was a contemporary to Sri Narayana Guru.

The Thaipooyam festival in Makaram month is famous for various types of kavadi including palkavadi. Shoolam kuthu and other Muruga temple rituals are held on the occasion. Caparisoned elephants, melam, Kerala temple arts and music are part of the annual festival.

The typical Kerala style temple is complete with a Kodimaram or flag post and Kalvilakkukal.
