Nanniyode Sree Subramanya Swamy Temple – Information – Festival

Nanniyode Sree Subramanya Swamy temple is located at Nanniyode, around 15 km north of Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Subrahmanya Swamy or Muruga.

A standing murti of Muruga is worshipped in the square sanctum sanctorum. Pongala is observed in the temple. The shrine is managed by SNDP.

The Thaipooyam festival (January – February) is famous for temple music, various types of Kavadis, Shoolam, and Kavadiyattam. The festival is one of the most colorful festivals in the region.

The temple also observes Sashti fasting in every Malayalam month – the sixth day after Karutha Vavu or Amavasya.

The other festivals observed in the temple include Skanda Sashti and Thrikarthika.

The annual Pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meda masam.
