Muringoor Cheenikal Bhagavathi Temple – Information – Festival

Muringoor Cheenikkal Bhagavathi temple is located at Muringur Vadakkummuri in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi or Devi. The temple is famous for its annual festival held in Makaram month (January – February).

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathi, Ayyappa, Keezhkavil Bhagavathi, Nayayakshi and Nagaraja and Navagrahas.

This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a round sanctum sanctorum or vatta sreekovil.

The annual festival is famous for caparisoned elephants, temple music and traditional temple art forms. The temple is also famous for Panchavadyam, Pandi Melam and Panchari Melam performances during the annual festival.

Navratri is another important festival in the temple. Tuesdays and Fridays are the most important days in the temple.
