Konathukunnu Thekkumkara Kumareshwaram Temple

Konathukunnu Thekkumkara Kumareshwaram temple is located at Konathukunnu Thekkumkara in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Muruga or Subrahmanya. Kumara is one among the numerous names of Muruga. The temple attracts hundreds of devotees during the Thaipooyam festival in Makaram month.

This small but beautiful shrine has a standing murti of Subrahmanya. The square sanctum sanctorum is built as per Kerala temple architecture style.

The Thaipooyam festival (January – February) is famous for temple music, various types of Kavadis, Shoolam, and Kavadiyattam.

The temple also observes Sashti fasting in every Malayalam month – the sixth day after Karuthavavu or Amavasya.

The other festivals observed in the temple include Skanda Sashti and Thrikarthika.
