Ayodhya Lakshmana Temple At Ramapuram – Malappuram

Ayodhya Lakshmana temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lakshman of Ramayana at Ramapuram in Malappuram district, Kerala. This ancient temple was completely destroyed by Tipu Sultan but the shrine has now been renovated.

The round sanctum sanctorum or vatta sreekovil of the temple has a murti of Lakshmana.

The most auspicious day in the temple is the Swargavathil Ekadashi observed during the Shukla Paksha Ekadasi (velutha paksham) in Dhanu Masam.

A famous Bhagavan Sri Rama temple is located nearby at Ramapuram itself.

There are also temples dedicated to Bharata and Shatrughna in the vicinity.
