Annakara Sree Chirakkal Bhagavathy Temple - Information - Festival

Annakara Sree Chirakkal Bhagavathy temple is located at Annakara in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavati. The annual temple festival held in Dhanu Masam is famous for a large number of caparisoned elephants.

The Annakara Sree Chirakkal Bhagavathy Pooram is held on the last day of Dhanu Masam. The temple then remains closed for five days starting from Makaram 1. The festival is noted for caparisoned elephants and temple music. Various rituals and pujas are held on the occasion. Traditional temple art forms are presented on the occasion.

The temple is famous for Muttarukkal ritual which is held as part of dosha pariharam.

The temple is also famous as a Chowa Kshetram and is associated with providing astrological remedies to people facing problems in life due to bad positioning of planets in horoscope.
