Karingachira Bhagavati temple is located at Puthenchira near Mala on the Mala – Kodungallur road in Thrissur
district, Kerala. The main deity worshipped in the temple is Goddess Durga and the
sreekovil faces west. The temple is one among the 108 Durga temples in Kerala.
Karingachira Bhagavati Temple History
It is said that Marthanda Varma of Travancore conquered the area by defeating a Samoothiri. Marthanda Varma gave the area to Kochi king. For helping him, the then Kochi king gave the Karingachira Bhagavati Temple and Pakarappalli Sastha temple to Travancore.
