Elavathukkal temple is located at Nagalassery Village in Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is around 6 km south of Thrithala and 3 km east of Koottanad. The annual festival is held on Kumbham 7 or Kumbham 9. The date of pooram festival is fixed through koothu kuriyidal on the first day of Kumbham month.
A total of 30 elephants belonging to 8 groups participate in the pooram festival.
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The deity faces east. The Upa Devata in the temple is Ayyappan.
Elavathukkal Temple History
The nattukuttam of olden times used to be held in the temple. The temple was under the control of Naduvazhi.
The temple is now managed by Palleri family.
