Elampalloor Sree Mahadevi Temple Festival Near Kundara – Kollam

Elampalloor Sree Mahadevi temple is located at Kottamkara near Kundara in Kollam district, Kerala. Elampalloor Sree Mahadevi Temple festival 2024 date is April 14 to April 23. The annual festival in the temple is held from Medam 1 to Medam 10 and is known as Pathamudayam Mahotsavam. At total of 40 Kettukazhcha and 2 Kuthiras participate in the annual festival.

Pongala festival is held on Pathamudayam (April 23, 2024) in Medam month.

The main deity worshipped in the temple is Vana Durga. The deity faces west. The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy and Yakshi.

Pala and Kayar is donated in the temple to overcome breathing difficulties.

Elampalloor Sree Mahadevi Temple History

The famous Kundara Vilambaram done by Velu Thampi Dalawa the Diwan of Travancore took place on the northern side of the temple.

The temple was built by Keezhperoor Vera Unni Kerala Varma, who was the Mootha Thiruvadi of Deshingattu.

The temple was under the administration of Elanjivelil Nair family. The kalari of the family was located north of the temple and was known as Elanjivelil Kalari.

The temple is administered by Elanjivel family trust.

Kanjiracode Sri Krishna temple is located one kilometer from the temple.
