Ayyappan Para Sastha Temple is located at Nellimoottil Padikkal near Adoor in Pathanamthitta District. The 10-day annual festival in the shrine is observed in such a manner that it ends on Uthram Nakshatra in Medam month.
Ayyappanpara temple is one among the 108 temples mentioned in Thottam Pattu. It is referred to as Uramaikavu in the Thottam Pattu.
The main murti worshipped in the temple is swayambhu (divine appearance). An interesting aspect of the Sreekovil in the temple is that it does not have a top covering and is exposed to nature. The temple has nearly 2-acre grove.
The temple observes chirappu annually starting from the first day of Vrischikam to Makaravilakku.
