Arukalil Mahadeva Temple - Interesting Facts - Festival

Arukalil Mahadeva Temple is located around 3 km east of Adoor in Pathanamthitta District in Kerala. The annual festival in the temple is observed in such a way that the 10-day festival ends with Arattu on the Thiruvathira nakshatra day in Malayalam Kumbham month.

A unique aspect of this temple is that it has a circular sanctum sanctorum which is quite rare in these parts of Kerala.

The main deity worshipped in the temple is Shiva. The main subsidiary deity worshipped in the temple is Ganapati.

The annual festival is noted for special temple rituals, pageantry, processions, traditional dance, music and folk arts.
