Jagannath Rath Yatra held in Ashada month at Valsad in
Gujarat attracts thousands of devotees and is similar to the famous Rath Yatra
held on the same day in Puri (Odisha) and Ahmedabad (Gujarat). Jagannath Rath Yatra 2024 at Valsad
is on July 7. In 2024, it is the 30th year of the famous Valsad
Jagannath Rath Yatra.
Valsad Jagannath temple has the deities similar to those worshipped in the Puri
Jagannath Temple. It is located in the Chhipwad area of the town.
The temple was established long back and the small but
highly enthusiastic Rath Yatra was started in 1994.
The temple is maintained and the yatra is conducted by Shree Jagannath Seva Samiti.
The shrine
is open daily from morning 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Evening
darshan timing is from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Valsad Jagannath Rath Yatra Route
The rath
yatra begins from Valsad Jagannath Rath at Chhipwad at 12:00 PM.
The yatra
goes through Power house – Kalyan Bagh, Avabai School, Gaurav path. Puja and
rituals are observed at Gaurav Path.
From Gaurav
Path the rath yatra will move towards M G Road, Mota Bazar and will finally
reach back at Chhipwad Temple at around 9:00 PM.
