Telugu Jaimini Mahabharata

  • Currently, only the Ashwamedha Parva of Jaimini Bharatamu is available.
  • Pillalamari Pina Virana did not strictly follow the Vyasa Bharata or the Kavitraya Bharata in Telugu.
  • Krishna bhakti is given importance in the available chapter. Bhakti and dharma are given importance in the poem.
  • A comparison is made to the episode in the Ramayana of Rama going to Sage Valmiki’s hermitage to retrieve the horse set free in Ashwamedha Yajna.
It is believed that the author helped in the promotion of Krishna Bhakti in the present day Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during the 15th Century AD.
