A Maha Shivalingam carved out from a single granite stone
was consecrated at TTD S.V. Dhyanaramam at Alipiri, Zoo Park Road in Tirupati,
Andhra Pradesh. The Shivling is 11 feet high.
In the Shivalinga, the Panavattam portion (lower part ) is 4 feet high with diameter 10 feet.
The linga portion (upper part ) is 7 feet high and with
diameter 4 feet.
Total height = 4+7= 11 feet
Weight of the Shivling is around 25 tonnes
The Shivling was brought as two separate pieces of granite
stones and joined at the place of consecration .i.e at. SV Dhyanaramam
The granite stone was brought from Kuppam in Chittoor District
in Andhra Pradesh.
